Dr. Oscar Yang is a Consulting Partner with USCI Blue Ocean Strategy Regional Centre (UCSI BOSRC).  He is a Blue Ocean Strategist based in Seattle (USA) and is an industry expert in Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) Industries. He has also worked on many other industry-specific projects (private equity & venture capital, real estate, agriculture, micro-finance, transportation, crime control, etc.). In addition, he advises organizations on business due diligence for acquisition opportunities, on international transactions between Asia and North America, and on 100-day-action plans during the change of leadership.

 

Dr. Oscar Yang's typical role is first to develop a strategy blueprint for a client by employing the Blue Ocean Strategy, and then to prepare the client for successful execution via Berry Farming Tools, a collection of business know-how he has gathered over more than a decade.  

 

Throughout his career, Dr. Oscar Yang has absorbed diverse business experience: strategy consulting, M&A banking, business development, strategic marketing, and financial planning. He has completed projects for leading companies such as Samsung Electronics, Hewlett Packard, ING Investment Bank, Arthur D. Little, Silicon Image, and Merrill Lynch. The companies range from a Silicon Valley start up of $50M annual revenue to a global multinational technology company with $100B annual sales.

 

For the past years, Dr. Oscar Yang has been mentored by Prof. Chan Kim, the co-creator of Blue Ocean Strategy, who is ranked among the top five business thinkers in the world. Most recently, he embarked on a two-year consulting assignment of designing and implementing blue ocean strategy projects for a foreign government in South East Asia.

 

Dr. Oscar Yang has a B.A. in chemistry from Dartmouth College, a J.D. in business law from Cornell University, an M.B.A. in strategy from INSEAD and an M.P.P. in international finance from Harvard University. He has been admitted to practice law in New York since 2009. He is also a qualified Blue Ocean Strategy expert since 2008.
